Identity, difference, and recognition: a look at the indigenous women's movements in Brazil and the agenda for the fight against gender-based violence

Abstract Based on theoretical literature identity, difference, recognition, and social movements, this article aims to investigate how indigenous women's movements in Brazil are articulated. It also investigates the manners which fight against gender-based violence is debated within these movements. Initially, research points out difficulty identity recognition field for peoples. Secondly, it shows paradigmatic shift represented by Federal Constitution of 1988 legal recognition. Finally, highlights importance grant agenda gender violence, reporting searching alternative ways suffered women. The resorted review method, based deductive reasoning hermeneutic critical/dialectical approach.
